2025 season workshops
We are a farm-based Flower School.
Set on one of Salt Spring’s oldest and most beautiful farms, our workshops invite you to connect with flowers in a hands-on way. Over the past 15 years, we’ve built a vibrant, community-supported farm business, and we love sharing this place—its gardens, fields, and creative possibilities—with locals and visitors alike.
Field Workshops
Field Workshops are offered in two distinct styles
Offered all season long, Field Workshops offer a space for consistent floral practice, whether you're refining foundational techniques or exploring new creative directions. Held in the garden, these hands-on sessions encourage seasonal connection, skill-building, and artistic exploration in an approachable, harvest-as-you-go setting.
Choose between our two signature styles of workshops: ‘Foundations’, where we focus on essential core techniques, mechanics, and principles of floral design, or ‘Exploration's’, where we dive into creative challenges and new ways of working with flowers.
-
Foundations workshops are a place to return to again and again—an evolving study of the core techniques, mechanics, and principles of floral design. These sessions are not just for beginners but for anyone who wants to refine, challenge, and deepen their skills.
Each class includes either bouquet-making and vase arranging, helping you master the fundamentals while developing your own creative instincts. We’ll cover freeform and spiral bouquet techniques, essential vase mechanics, and fundamental design principles like balance, movement, and proportion.
Ideal for: Beginners and anyone looking to strengthen their floral foundation.
-
Explorations workshops are an invitation to experiment and push creative boundaries. Each session focuses on a different artistic challenge—it might be working with foraged materials, designing with unexpected shapes, or creating movement in an arrangement.
These classes are about discovery and intuition, encouraging you to see flowers differently, break the rules, and trust your eye. Each week has a new theme, offering a fresh approach to floral design.
Ideal for: Those wanting to expand their creativity and explore new floral techniques.
-
All skill levels will find either style of workshop a wonderful place to start learning with us - but if we had to pick, starting with a Foundations workshop to explore core techniques, mechanics, and principles of floral design would be our suggestion.
Concept Workshops
Concept Workshops are immersive
Our Concept Workshops are in-depth floral experiences designed around special topics, creative techniques, and the natural rhythm of the year. Whether it’s celebrating an occasion like Mother’s Day, diving into wedding florals, or exploring the abundance of fall textures, these workshops offer a deeper, hands-on approach to floral design. Each session is a chance to learn, create, and connect—with flowers, the farm, and a community of flower lovers.
